Program Overview
Conference Offerings
The 27th Annual National
CASA Conference provides a unique opportunity to learn from
leading consultants and network with peers. The conference
provides participants with a comprehensive learning
experience through education, training and networking
opportunities.
General Sessions
The National CASA
Conference offers three general sessions at which attendees
will hear keynote presentations by leading experts in child
welfare and enjoy entertainment by local youth performance
groups. Alma Powell, chair of America’s Promise, will
present the keynote address at the opening luncheon on June
8. Steve Robbins, inclusiveness and cultural competency
consultant, will present the keynote address at the morning
general session on June 9.
National CASA Recognition Banquet
National CASA is pleased
to honor outstanding individuals and programs that provide
hope to abused and neglected children with Awards of
Excellence, presented at a recognition banquet on June 8.
These awards commemorate the exceptional contributions and
dedication of child advocates, program directors, judges,
board members and CASA/GAL programs excelling in diversity
and inclusion efforts.
Workshops
Attendees may choose
from more than 60 workshops that offer substantive and
relevant information and opportunities to gain new skills.
Four designated workshop tracks—Fundraising, Public Policy,
Volunteer Skills and Resources and Cultural Competency—help
guide participants’ workshop selections.
Workshops are offered throughout the day, from Sunday
through Tuesday.
National CASA Association
Institute
The National CASA
Association Institute is an optional, day-long intensive
seminar that takes place on June 7. Conference attendees are
invited to select from a line-up of comprehensive seminars
that offer an interactive and intensive opportunity to
thoroughly explore a topic of choice.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged; attendance is
limited.
Networking Opportunities
During these scheduled
sessions, attendees have the opportunity to network and
discuss relevant issues with peers and other child welfare
professionals. Each session has a pre-determined topic that
will be explored in an informal, small-group setting in
which attendees are encouraged to share ideas and
experiences.
Networking opportunities are scheduled concurrently with
workshop sessions offered Sunday through Tuesday.
Exhibit Hall
Conference attendees are
encouraged to visit the exhibit hall and obtain resources
for use in their communities.
